THE AIR FRANCE FOUNDATION SHOWS ITS CHRISTMAS SPIRIT
In the run-up to Christmas, the Air France Foundation organized a toy donation event at the Company’s head office as well as in Guadeloupe to help underprivileged young people in Lebanon and Haiti and sick children in Guadeloupe. Air France staff showed proof of great solidarity to ensure a Christmas spirit for all.
Over 800kg of donations or 119 boxes were collected.
On 12 December, three flights will take off from Roissy for Lebanon, with these donations loaded by Air France cargo teams, and crews made up of Air France Foundation Ambassadors on board. On arrival, the crews and Air France staff in Beirut will have the pleasure of meeting the Live Love Lebanon association and, albeit a little early, distributing these toys to the children.
Live Love Lebanon supports the population facing an unprecedented crisis, and particular promotes the education of children.
Our role is to be committed to nature and people in need and to encourage young people to improve their environment. From recycling programmes to beach clean-ups and emergency crisis relief, our activities are wide-ranging. We receive more than 100 requests for help every day. Our call centre works around the clock and has already responded to more than 23,000 requests for help from people in need, providing them with medicines, food, clothing and basic household items. We have received and distributed more than 53 tonnes of food, 1,800 boxes of medicine and rebuilt more than 200 houses for more than 1,300 people whose houses were destroyed by the explosion on August 4th. Our social media presence has recorded over 1.5 billion impressions, 18 million views on our stories and videos and we have over half a million followers. All this would not have been possible without the support of our partners GIZ, UN Habitat, Adidas, UNESCO and many others. Lebanon is facing many changes and challenges, such as the explosion on August 4th, power cuts, the oil crisis, medicine shortages etc. Our work is far from over. We are carrying on the good work thanks to the love and support of everyone around us.
