The 134th session of the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, opened on 15th October in Guangzhou. In this session, the scale has reached a new high, with a total exhibition area expanded to 1.55 million square meters, an increase of 50,000 square meters over the previous session. The total number of booths was 74,000, an increase of nearly 4,600 over the last session, including 72,000 booths in Domestic Pavilion and 1,550 booths in International Pavilion.
There is a total 28,533 exhibitors, an increase of 3,135 over the previous session, including 27,883 domestic exhibitors. There are 650 exhibitors from 43 countries and regions, of which 60% are countries of the “Belt and Road” initiative.

During the 1st phase (October 15-19), Household Electric Appliances, Machinery, Intelligent Manufacturing, New Energy Vehicles, Lighting Equipment, Hardware and Tools are the main categories. Overseas buyers coming from more than 200 countries and regions around the world attended the Fair actively and achieved great business turnover. Juan Ramon Perez, a Mexican and general manager of Liverpool Asia, said that this time at Canton Fair, his company needs to purchase a variety of products, including kitchen utensils, clothing, electronics and toys. He said that Canton Fair serves as a crucial platform that helps them find suitable sources of goods. During the fair, they not only establish a solid relationship with their suppliers, but also makes many friends. Sharafat Shah who is operating an internet facility in the United Kingdom and has attended six sessions of Canton Fair. “There are a lot of excellent manufacturers displaying diverse products at Canton Fair. The exhibitors are committed to high product quality and invest heavily in research and development, which are very attractive to foreign buyers like me,” Sharafat said, adding that he has built long-term partnerships with reliable suppliers he met at the fair. 71 leading multinationals have confirmed their attendance, 73 industrial and commercial institutions have confirmed their attendance.
The second phase of the 134th Canton Fair will be open from 23rd to 27th October. Consumer goods, gifts, furniture and home decorations are a big part of the five-day exhibition. The third phase will be open from 31st October to 4th November, brings together exhibitors of toys, textiles and clothing, footwear, home textiles, office supplies, sports products, medical devices & medicines, and food.
